This past weekend, we celebrated our little Hudson Brave turning one! As a mother it brought me so much joy to plan, create, and throw a party for him. He may only be one and never remember it, but I wanted to do something special for him. I wanted him to feel so loved and cared about on his big day. To some it's just a party, for us it was celebrating the goodness of God in our lives and seeing His promises fulfilled in our lives. I hope he always knows that his life matters not only to us, but to this world.
Before I had Hudson, I worked for our church for ten years where I planned large events from dance recitals to conferences. So events and party planning is in my DNA!
We live in Arizona so the weather in August is disgusting! It will be anywhere from 110-115 degrees, plus with monsoon season we are getting a lovely percentage of humidity. So we decided to hold the party inside at my parents house to make our guests more comfortable. Let me just pause and say I have the MOST AMAZING PARENTS! If only you knew all the things they did for me and Hudson, not to mention taking days of work to get their house ready and to move every single piece of furniture so we could set out tables. They are so incredible! We just invited family and a few close friends who spoiled Hudson! It truly was such a fun and memorable moment for us.
